Species of Wood

Different textures, hardness, and grains will reflect your own style and taste for your particular look. The species of wood will influence the floor's appearance and durability.

 
Not all species of hardwood are equally hard. Oak, Maple, or Ash should be considered for extra durability if the floor is likely to take a lot of abuse. Each wood species has its own color, grain, and veining.
